I came across this page and realized that I haven't posted anything for 2 years. I guess I'm not as active as I used to be in film photography - though I'm glad to a lot of others still posting religiously.
I think it's time to take more pictures:p
Sir Marlon Despues.
He didn't formally teach me or anything. But I learned so much by just encountering him.
He recently passed away.
I feel bad for not being able to remember more of the things he said or did, or even the way he moved and spoke.
hahah this is so dramatic. Sir Marlon was a great photographer and he exuded this aura that really inspired me to keep shooting pictures and create my own style. He was verbal about how people should stop learning how to take pictures in the same way their favorite photographers do but rather in their own style.
I'm not sure If my style is anything unique, but I tried and while I look at my gall
i watched this dvd showing the works of this guy named Michel Gondry and I was just blown away by it. Though I've seen some of his more popular music videos, I never took note of the amount of detail put into the videos themselves. I'm not much of a movie expert or anything, but dman, This guy is freakin good!
Personally, the video for Sugar Water (I think that was the name of the song) was my favorite, as well as the videos he did for the white stripes. That guy is really weird and really cool at the same time.
Anyways, the whole experience just opened my mind with regards to approaching art although I'm not sure how exactly...hmmm...
hmm
